MFA GRAPHIC DESIGN FIELD INTERNSHIP: HOLLAND, BELGIUM
Field Internship GRDS 683 — 3 credits
November 6-17, 2017
Over the course of this class, students will convene in a number of cities outside of Los Angeles and follow an assigned agenda that includes: studio visits, museum visits, conferences, and workshops. Otis faculty will be in attendance to oversea the Field Internship and lead discussions and critiques while students reflect on learning and share outcomes via presentations in a seminar setting.
Units fall under the summer session's MFA "internship" course. The final grade will be entered once the student has met with their internship faculty. Until that meeting, the summer grade will remain "I" for incomplete.
Demonstrate the ability to frame questions, devise appropriate methodologies for answering them, and evidence an ongoing perspective of critical inquiry.
·Demonstrate an awareness of the importance of design pedagogy to the practice of contemporary graphic design.
·Explore in writing aspects of graphic design that are important to the field and visual arts in general
Working dates: November 6-17, 2017
Early arrival and weekend breaks are included in agenda.

November 14 – 15 - *Integrated Conference, Antwerp, Belgium
MOVE TO GHENT or Stay in Antwerp and train to Ghent for workshop days
November 16 – 17 - Ghent, Belgium.
